Rarely Known Baby Facts
You already know that babies are cute and fun to snuggle. They get to wear super cute and goofy looking clothes. There is no other stage of life when a person can wear loudly patterned clothing without having to deal with snide comments. Most people think that being a baby is pretty easy. They think that babies come out of the womb as fully formed humans but without the ability to express themselves properly. Babies are actually quite complicated and have very distinct needs and very unique abilities. Here are some facts about babies that might be new to you.
It is hard for most babies to tell the difference between one color and another when they are still very young. It will take some time after a baby is born for his eyes to finish maturing and for the synapses between them and his brain to be complete. This is why the very best colors that you can use for a baby’s room or toys are bright primary colors. You should focus the color scheme for your baby on bright reds and blues and greens or even on black and white. In the eyes of a baby, a lot of pastel colors look pretty much the same.
It is their colors that make some toys more popular among babies than others. This means that all of those black and white decorations that you scoff at (for various reasons) are actually better for your baby’s eyes than the pastel and soft colored decorations you were planning to use. All babies know how to hold their breath and how to swim when they are born. This is also something that your baby will rapidly forget as well. It is this instinct that makes some doctors believe water births are best. Apparently the transition from the womb to independent life is easier with a water birth because the babies have spent nine months "swimming" inside mommy’s womb. They believe the water helps them go from being completely dependent upon their mothers to being independent functioning creatures smoother than they do through traditional hospital births.
Were you aware that babies grow tails as they develop in the womb? It’s a fact! During the first few weeks after conception babies grow tails along with their brains, hearts and lungs.
The tail will begin to disappear as the rest of the baby’s body takes shape as it grows inside the mother’s womb. This is not that different from the way a tadpole grows to be a frog. Unfortunately, not everyone’s body will absorb the tail completely and some babies are born with short tails still sticking out. Surgical removal and waiting for it to be grown into are the two options that are available to parents whose babies are born with intact tails. You won’t have to worry about the affect to your baby if you have the tail removed-it does not affect your baby’s health and the surgery is pretty simple. Baby books are written in very large font, you can read them without reading glasses
The fact is that most knowledge about childhood development is not widely known. Watching babies grow is incredibly interesting. Parenting becomes far more enjoyable when you know a little bit more about how your baby is developing.
